Rain -- 6/30/15
June is going out with a bang this year! This afternoon, we had thunder and lightning, and a few drops of rain go by. It was moving northwest from San Diego to Los Angeles, and all LA County beaches are currently closed because of the potential for lightning strikes. Below are photos of the rain we received at my house as I listened to the thunder!
It has been over 90 degrees here, and the humidity must be pretty high too -- there is a slight breeze right now, perhaps enough to signal another thunderstorm about to go through. We are on a flexalert, meaning that we've been asked to minimize power usage until 9 pm to prevent brownouts!

Seems like only a splatter of rain... Hope you are getting a little more than that!
That's all there was today! It was a band of water coming from the San Diego area and up towards Los Angeles -- I was just on the southern edge as it went by -- but it went very quickly, and nobody got very much water out of it. I think they probably had a little more against the mountains, but not much.
That is at least a promise of more. We had rain here last night, but only "teaser" clouds today. It is definitely that time of year- feast or famine.
Unfortunately that's all there was! I think I must be just to the side of the pathway between the Gulf of CA and LA as storms move north and east!
Oh, I would love to see your area get the rains that we have been getting.
Yes -- rains like you've had would be very helpful -- maybe in the fall!
That is a wee bit of rain. Praying you will get more and more.
LOL -- well, it's better than none at all, I guess!
Only in Southern California do we celebrate a few raindrops on the patio.
LOL -- haha -- that's all I've seen for a while! It didn't help the drought very much, but there was a little thunder and lightning with it, and it did help a bit with the humidity that day!
I think I can count the number of drops on the concrete. Feeling your thirst!
Hahaha! That's about all the rain we got that day! Next time I'll have to stick out my tongue and collect some of it!
We have had so much rain, with more coming ~ wish you could have some too ~
Those few drops are about all we'll see now until the fall!
