Fire Update
The North Fire (the one that burned all the cars yesterday) moved off the freeway towards a small village, where it burned several more homes and 45 or so more autos! It is now 45 contained, thanks to a rainy day!
The weather here has changed, as was predicted. It felt cooler, although the report is that it got to 87 degrees. Beginning at about noon, there was a slow, soaking rain that kept up until early evening. This was the backlash from Hurricane Delores --it is supposed to be similar weather tomorrow, but with temperature and humidity considerably higher than today. If so, and if new fires are not triggered by lightning, another day or two of this weather should help extinguish the fires that are currently burning. As I write this, the sky is clear, but I can sense changes in the air pressure -- tomorrow is likely to be hot and sticky!

I hope for the needed amount of rain. San Bernardino seems to constantly take it on the chin, fire-wise.
My daughter said it was pouring down rain yesterday.
In South Orange County, it was a slow, soaking rain, but there were places where the rain was considerably heavier.
Praying you will have rain all day tomorrow and it will help tremendously.
Thanks, Char -- It's noon now, and it's been sunny here. I can see thunder clouds forming against the mountains, though, and that's where the rain is most needed, so hopefully it will rain there. Yesterday's rain was a good one -- unusual at this time of year, but the type of rain we need.
I hope the rain continues and all the fires controlled quickly!!
We had more rain today -- 2 hours of slow soaking rain here, but heavy rains and flash floods n the mountains. I-10 is currently closed because a bridge washed out east of Palm Springs -- that's the main road east to Phoenix! Tomorrow should be similar, then they are saying the rain will be over for the summer!
Such a horrible thing to happen on the freeway!
They were lucky there were no serious injuries in that episode! It seems to be a particularly bad area for fires -- there have been two others in the same spot since then, both off to the side of the road!
