Rain!
The hills are alive
With the green of rainy days;
They will be greener!
Since the first of the year, it appears that we have had some rain every day. It only takes a little to turn the grasses green, and the hills are now looking quite chartreuse! We've had anywhere from 1/10 inch to 1-1/2 inches each day -- we are almost on target to meet an average rainfall to date this year, but the predictions are for a few more days of this, then dryer weather again. This winter will not break our drought, but it has been nice to have a more normal winter!

Glad to hear the rain is on target to be a "normal" amount. We are supposed to get rain all night and into tomorrow. They have been announcing flood warnings since the ground is frozen so it is supposed to just run off and raise all the rivers/creeks/streams.
It's supposed to warm up here on Friday after a few more days of rain -- then the prediction is that it will be a dry winter ~ ~ ~ at least half a wet winter is wetter than nothing!
I was hoping that you were getting the rain I was hearing about.
We had about 2 inches yesterday, and two more waves of storm to come this week! Still only average for the year, but certainly better than the last few years!
Sounds like Cali is getting an ENORMOUS amount of rain!
Actually just about right on the average amount of rain -- but it feels enormous because it's so much more than we've had for the last few years!
I have been watching the rain falls in your area. Even though it is not much to over come the draught, it is still far better than what you all have been through. I am so glad the hills are alive with the verdant greenery.
As soon as it is sunny again, I'll try to get some photos of the green -- it's absolutely beautiful! There's been enough rain to create mudslides in some of the burn areas, and flooding and lots of accidents on the roads. I am safe, but not going very far from home!
I can just see those green hills. That's how it was the year I got married.......1958.
The hills are so green it's hard to imagine that just a week or two they all looked brown and dry! We will have more rain during the rest of this week, but then more dry -- the green won't last long!
