  • our rabbits around here died but they are wild rabbits. It was too cold for them with almost 7 days of icy weather.

  • Great photo! Surprised you saw him/her!

    • I was probably the last in a group of 12 to find him -- actually took a shot next to him, thinking I'd found him!

  • great shot Janet, the orange leaves look like fire in the branches!

  • Waldo blends right in with the snow! :-)
    Great photo!
    HUGS!!! :-)

    • Thanks, C -- yes, he does blend pretty well, except for the black stripe in his ear! This is one of my favorites from the polar bear trip!

  • He blends right into the background doesn't he? Great picture.

    • The camouflage of the arctic animals is wonderful -- the hares, the ptarmigan, the fox. Thanks -- I'm glad you like this!

  • So pretty!!! That would make a good calendar shot.
I put up some pictures of our snow we got last night.

  • So, the rabbits name is Waldo….cool photo

  • That's a nice picture. Hadn't been around in a while. I've been missing my Xanga friends. Hope all is well.

    • I've been thinking of you recently and wondering how you're doing. Hope all is well -- and hope you're headed to a happy holiday season! Waldo is from the polar bear trip I took (6 or 7 posts in late October to early November)!

  • Love and hugs Janet. Hope you are doing well. Left a response to your comment on my blog.

  • orrct typing :I searched the famous polar hare and did not find it . Of course it is white like the backgound of the snow and the ice ;
You have an eagle‘s eyes , Janet.

    • I had a hard time finding the animal too, Michel -- thought I saw it, then they moved our tundra buggy a little and I realized I was looking in the wrong direction! The arctic hare really protects itself with its camouflaged fur!

  • This is why rabbits are white in winter. I almost missed it when looking at the branches. :)

    • The arctic hare and arctic fox both camouflage themselves really well! I love this shot -- do you think it might make a good jigsaw puzzle?!

  • Bet it was quite a trip! On my recent bird count saw many horseshoe rabbit tracks. Btw how do you get the larger size photos posted...I could do so on the older Xanga but finding not as much flexibility in new format and thus much less use.

    • It was a magnificent trip -- short and intense, but very educational and very much the type of trip I wanted.

Re larger sized photos -- add media and select your photo. There will be a 1/2 screen on the right of your screen -- scroll down and select 'large' for the size. I also use this for the center alignment (just above the sizing box).
