  • Simple

    Poetry is tough

    I will attempt a haiku

    It's simple as that!

Oh, dear -- I can't even figure out how to make my 'poem' come out in single space format in this new Xanga!  This will have to do for today, but I will attempt some of the prompts through the month, interspersed with heron photos!

  • I'm kind of excited about the month of April for many reasons, & just one of those being the Poetry Month poems coming from so many of our friends! Nice one from you on our 1t prompt! I too find spacing to be a challenge with the new Xanga.
I'll be looking out for the poems, herons, & other photos!
    Happy April. :-)

    • Thanks -- I'm not sure how far I'll get, but I'll be trying! Happy April to you as well!

  • I'm simply thrilled that you are joining in the fun! Love this haiku! And heron photos coming is a special treat for me too.
If you paste into the text field instead of the visual field (see the tabs at the top of the box) it will come out single spaced instead of double...

    • Thanks for the hint, Val -- I did fix the haiku, but didn't change the spacing on this one. I'll try to get in all 30, but please excuse me if they're all haiku's!

  • That's better than some haikus I've read.

  • A- Janet. I even took a shot at Simple. lol

  • Hit Shift and enter at the same time and the cursor should drop to the next line rather than skipping a space.

  • great poem Janet, thanks for joining in, I always learn something from peoples poems, yours reminds me that I can be me and not Elizabeth Barrett Browning...and now I also know about spacing. I always look forward to your photographs but the herons are my favorite. I think I told you about the demise of the herons in our creek a year or so ago..this spring I think we have a mated pair....YAY!!!!

    • hahaha! I'm definitely not Elizabeth Barrett Browning! Poetry was the hardest part of English classes in school, and I can remember many evenings of tears over trying to understand them -- they all seemed to have underlying meanings that I couldn't find! And the spacing hints are helpful, too! We've had some rain in the last couple of days, and today was a bit windy for good heron shots, though I will post a shot or two in my next post. I'm glad they're so successful -- and how exciting that you might have a pair in your creek again!
