Visual vs. HTML -- help requested
I have an HTML screen, but understand there is a way to change to a visual screen, which I think would suit my needs better. I don’t see the visual/html option at the top right of the screen as has been suggested — just the screen options/help tabs. Is there another way to change back to Visual?

I found it! It's on the profile page -- there's a box to disable the visual editor -- that was unchecked -- I checked it and the visual/html tabs showed up! Who'd a thunk it would be there?!
Just found out myself while I was updating some options. I'm interested in seeing what that change does when creating a new post.
@ClassySassyRed -- I think it should provide all sorts of other options -- click on the right hand icon on the toolbar to expand it to 2 toolbars.
They showed up WHERE, slmret?? I checked mine and thought the new post place would look different, but it still looks the same ~
There are several things to do -- 1. make sure on your profile page (upper right hand corner where it says "Hi, fwren" that the top box is NOT checked (to disable Visual, you check that box). 2. Then go to a new post screen, and you should see Visual/Text tabs standing up on the right hand end of the toolbar. Click Visual. 3. On the toolbar, click the right-most icon, and there will be 2 toolbars, where you can change fonts, type colors, alignment, and so forth. For me, this should make it much easier to post text, and it MAY allow easier photo posting than when I was using the text mode rather than the visual mode. My major frustration this morning was finding that visual mode -- never occurred to me to look at my profile! I hope that helps ~ ~ ~
Now if I could just save theme changes! I want to add a text widget to my site!
It's going to take a bit of time to figure things out here. I still can't get connected to Xanga consistently or even comment on people's entries. (I'm surprised that I can do this right now).

Those tips were borne from at least a couple of hours of major frustration while I searched for the Visual/Text tabs! I'm hopeful that we'll all feel more comfortable in a few days

Oh wow, that helps immensely, but of all things, I had to check AND uncheck it, saving it each time to get it to work ~ go figure! Thank YOU!!
Oh my, I could almost get excited now ~ that enables me to SEE the pics I upload AND edit them as far as size and allows me to center them as well. THAT is a big step! Now if I could get my hope page looking better ~ without overlaid posts! That is fairly annoying, but I have notified them about it, so hope they can get it ironed out eventually.
I'm SO glad to hear this -- I haven't tried a post yet since I solved the Visual issue, so I'm glad to know how much you were able to do
. We'll all get used to the program before too long, and it won't be quite so daunting!

Well, I just THOUGHT I had figured out how to enlarge and center photos! I can enlarge some of them a wee bit, but if I then center them, it cuts the photo in HALF! What's up with that?! Seems like there is an invisible column margin that I cannot see or something ~ weird ~
I did manage to do a photo post, but it ain't very pretty ~ LOL!
I've clicked unclicked Visual/Text and still can't get any "visual". Thanks for the advice on the one click image sizing, but until I can figure out how to get a 'visual' I'm still using HTML. (Sad I guess for those who don't understand coding.)
Fortunately, Visual worked for me right away --I'm afraid I don't know how to help you. I was frustrated almost to tears until somebody suggested that toggle, then trying to find it! But hopefully it will work now without glitches!
Well Janet, first time back in ages and glad not the only one with difficulties...have not tried a new post or photos...did notice some of my images did not make it. No idea if correct space to ask a question...am in Xanga 2 as premium member but have lost all my custom modules, on my front page, are they coming? Others exprience?
Glad to see you back! I don't know about custom modules -- the front page is supposedly coming, based on XangaTeam messages. Some of my imaages also did not make it, though most did. There's a lot missing that made Xanga the community it has been -- I hope they fix it all quickly!
